I saw well-groomed business men and women on their phones walking urgently to their next destination and suddenly every article I had read about success exploded in my mind. I looked around at the crowds of people bustling up and down Michigan Ave and started to question who stood out and what set them apart. Then, as I was looking out the window, wallowing, I had quite the epiphany. I’m a perfectionist, so when I feel things are not at their very best I want to freak out, and the day I was talking to my friend, rather, texting them in an Uber on my way to a networking event (does that constitute as quality time these days?) I was one of those students who chose to save all of my less enjoyable classes until the end, (I would HIGHLY advise against this) my immediate family moved away from my childhood home in Chicago, to Florida (yes, there is some jealousy) and between juggling an internship, classes, a social life, networking, and making sure to at least scarf down some food here and there it’s been tough.
